Chain Link Pipe

Standard pipe in our chain link fence systems are made from hot rolled steel with wall thicknesses of approximately 0.085 of an inch. All pipes are hot-dipped galvanized, inside and out, with a zinc coating of 1.8 ounces per square foot, meeting the standards of the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) F1043 Type A. During galvanizing they are immersed in a bath of molten zinc so the zinc metallurgically bonds to the steel, creating a series of highly abrasion-resistant zinc-iron alloy layers, topped by a layer of impact resistant pure zinc. The bond that is created between the zinc and the steel has a strength of approximately 3600 psi. Vinyl coated pipes are then finished by a thermal fusion process with a 10 to 14 mil thick vinyl coating.

Chain Link Fabric

Vinyl coated mesh, woven from the heaviest core wire in the industry, makes it the most resistant to deformation. All the vinyl coated mesh in our chain link fences has a 15 to 25mil thick extrusion bonded coating, meeting the standards of ASTM F668 Class 2a. In this process, a heat-set layer of adhesive bonds the vinyl overcoat to the galvanized steel “core” wire. This adhesive itself adds another layer of protection from corrosion and aids in preventing future corrosion due to moisture wicking up between the wire and the coating, as the process keeps the coated wire free of voids.
